The Maryland Legislature periodically demands the formation of workgroups by the Comptroller of Maryland to specifically address policy issues and develop recommendations. These workgroups are typically composed of diverse stakeholders, including legislators, state agency representatives, and experts in the relevant fields. Below please find current workgroups and pertinent documents. 

 

Field Enforcement Bureau Workgroup

The Field Enforcement Bureau Workgroup is mandated by HB577/SB664 of the 2025 legislative session, and is comprised of stakeholders from the Chamber of Commerce, Retailers Association, Restaurants Association, Clerks of the Circuit Court, and ATCC. The workgroup seeks to make recommendations on the enforcement process for non-compliant business licenses. The workgroup will submit a report of its findings and recommendations to the Maryland General Assembly on December 1, 2025.
