Statewide Law Enforcement

After Incident Actions

I. POLICY

Agents, upon the arrival of local or state law enforcement officers with jurisdiction, will relinquish the prisoner and/or crime scene, and cooperate with and provide any assistance to the local or state law enforcement agency. Agents will identify themselves to responding law enforcement officers and citizens in the vicinity, preferably by producing their badge and identification card.

Prisoner transportation, evidence collection, prisoner processing, and completion of any necessary charging documents should be relinquished to the appropriate state or local law enforcement agency. Agents may be required to provide witness statements and/or assist with charging documents. Agents will be required to complete a Field Enforcement Bureau Incident Report; that report may be shared with the agency which assumed the investigation.

Agents, upon receipt of the appropriate Court Summons, must appear in any judicial proceedings related to the incident.

II. CANCELLATION
