Investigative Procedures Policy

I. POLICY

Field Enforcement Bureau (FEB) agents will utilize all available and lawful investigative techniques to identify the perpetrator(s) of a reported or suspected crime that falls under the jurisdiction of the Comptroller’s Office or when assisting other law enforcement agencies. Agents will ensure all individuals that are identified as victims, witnesses, or suspects in criminal investigations are treated with dignity and respect. The protection of citizens’ Constitutional Rights is paramount when conducting criminal investigations.
