Goals:

  • Improve transparency and accountability appropriate to the diverse range of the Comptroller’s responsibilities. 
  • Build dashboards and other tools that allow our Agency, external partners, and the general public to track key actions taken by the Comptroller’s office, including decisions made by the Board of Public Works, the Board of Revenue Estimates, and the State Retirement and Pension System.

Actions

  • Created an interactive dashboard for contracts / awards approved by the Board of Public Works, which makes contracts, including MBE goals and spending, searchable and far more usable for the public.
  • Hired the Agency’s first Policy Research Director to publish reports of interest to the public related to the state economy, procurement, investing, and more, driven by the Comptroller’s work on key fiscal boards. (For example, the first-ever State of the Economy report; BPW meeting summaries, quarterly reports, and an annual report; quarterly pension reports updates; policy briefs; and more).
  • Created and filled the COMPStat Director position which is responsible for developing a program that delivers data-driven insights, performance management, and public transparency into the agency's operations.
